Zurich is international: around a third of the city does not hold a Swiss passport, many companies work in English, and visitors come from all over the world. An escape room that only works in German excludes half the team. At Escape City every one of the six rooms can be played in English or German, with puzzles, hints and game master in the chosen language.

How it works

  • At booking you state the language, per room. Mixed groups choose per team.
  • The game master briefs you in English, gives hints in English and explains at the end in English.
  • The rooms are built so that texts and codes work in both languages.
  • The website is available in English at escapecity.ch/en, with booking, prices and event enquiry.

For international companies

A team building with colleagues from five countries needs a programme where language is not an advantage. Six rooms run in parallel, up to 36 people at once, each team in its language. Afterwards apéro or flying dinner in the bar & lounge, by invoice, with a contact person who answers in English. Details under team building.

Which room works best in English

All of them, with one note: Star Wars, Resident Evil and The Ring are based on English-language films and feel especially coherent in English. Titanic is the entry point for groups with mixed experience, Houdini the challenge.
